Registration guidance

Choose the registration route that fits your circumstances

A drafted Will and a registered Will are not the same thing. The appropriate registration route depends on your circumstances, what the Will covers and the rules of the chosen authority.

Abu Dhabi Civil Wills Office

ADJD states that non-UAE citizens may register a Will through the Abu Dhabi Civil Wills Office regardless of religion. Its published process includes application review, payment and a video-conference certification appointment.

ADGM Courts Notary Public

ADGM Courts are based on the direct application of English common law. Their English-language, digital notarisation service for non-Muslim Wills is delivered in partnership with ADJD and can cover UAE assets, including assets in Dubai.

Dubai Courts

Dubai Courts provides a court route for Will and personal-status matters. The applicable procedure, supporting documents, translation requirements and current charges should be confirmed for the customer's circumstances.

DIFC Courts Wills Service

DIFC Courts provides a Will registration service with its own eligibility, document, procedure and fee requirements. The complete position should be considered before this route is selected.

How we help

Your specialist will review the relevant facts, explain the available options and guide you through the agreed route. Current court requirements and fees are checked before registration.

Official sources and review

Prepared from official UAE Government, ADJD and DIFC Courts information. Prepared by Kingsman Wills. Last reviewed 31 August 2026. Court procedures and fees can change, so current requirements are confirmed before a customer proceeds.
